Kris joined REALPAC in August 2017 and leads the association’s sustainability and research projects. His sustainability work focuses on resilience, energy and water reporting and benchmarking, waste management, green leases, and corporate sustainability reporting. Kris also assists with federal, provincial, and municipal environmental policy submissions that REALPAC makes on behalf of the Canadian commercial real estate industry. His research projects include REALPAC’s annual Canadian Institutional Commercial Mortgage Market report, quarterly Sentiment Surveys, and the REALPAC/Ryerson Canadian Commercial Real Estate Research Symposium.
Kris also co-chairs REALPAC’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Committee and is a member of REALPAC’s Diversity & Inclusion Task Force. Kris builds existing and new connections with REALPAC members and stakeholders to inform, collaborate, and receive feedback on industry sustainability and research matters.
Prior to joining REALPAC, Kris was a Community Coordinator at the University of Waterloo Housing and Residences and completed co-op work terms with the City of Brampton, Smith + Andersen Footprint, Mondelēz International, and Suncor Energy. During his undergraduate studies, he also conducted a research project with Oxford Properties, investigating how to engage shopping centre tenants in sustainability.
Kris is a member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) Greater Toronto Chapter and Urban Land Institute (ULI) Toronto.
